Green Leaders Academy Malaysia (GLAM)

Green Leaders Academy Malaysia (GLAM)
CDM Hanis Haizi started this business in 2009 and after 4 year of being consistent, she has become what she is today, together with her husband, CDM Razali Zain. Later in June 2012, they founded Green Leaders Academy Malaysia (GLAM).

Under their wings, they have produced approximately
 17 CDMs - CDM Maisarah Ibrahim, CDM Naa Kamarudding, CDM Adibah Karimah, CDM Nur Fazihah Mohd Fauzi, CDM Sha Khalid and list goes on and on.


GLAM is the youngest group, the fastest growing group and now, the largest group. Every year Hai-o proposed 3 FOC trips per year and GLAM members that are qualified for the trip consisted up 60%-70% qualifiers.

GLAM even has its training center where trainings, power sessions, sharing knowledge, product presentation, motivational talk, goal setting are held. Even Hari Raya Gathering! Our mentors are willingly to help and guide us on the right path in order to succeed. 





Although, GLAM is situated in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, however, our mentors are willingly to help our their partners whether they are in borneo, down south or up north. 


Alhamdulillah, I am glad that I have chosen this awesome and amazing group, GLAM where the leaders are willingly to go around Malaysia to help, to guide their partners in achieving what they desire. Even my mentor, CDM Naa Kamaruddin was apart of this.

Week 35 update

Week 35 update

Week 35 and 5 weeks to go till the Estimated Due Date!

Alhamdulillah, I feel more energetic this week after a long weekend of no-plan. Usually, our weekend is filled with activities from one wedding to another wedding. But, this weekend was so peaceful and I took the chance just to be lazy, relax and chilled. We did go out for a movie in One Utama and celebrated Sofia, one of my closest friend's birthday, but we took our own sweet time getting ready. She is one of Firefly pilot and the first female captain for them! Go fly with Firefly (oops!).
Let's see what BabyCenter has to say about my growing little munchkin. But a little disclaimer, every baby grows differently. 
  • Little munchkin measures approximately 18 inches or over 45 cm from the top of the head to the heels and keep growing in length. 
  • Little munchkin weighs approximately 2.4 kg.
  • His/her elbow, foot, hand, head will protrude from my stomach when he/she stretches or squirm about.
  • He/she will developed a daily activity cycle as the wall of my uterus is stretching out and my abdomen is getting thinner and thinner.
  • His/her kidneys are fully developed.
  • I will start to feel breathless and I am experiencing it right exact moment! 
Week 35 update :
  • Braxton Hicks : I think that I am having it but I'm not too sure about it
  • Craving : Waffle with vanilla ice cream and banana
  • Pain : not so much
  • Weight gain :19kg
  • Current weight : 72kg 
  • Clothes: I could not fit into most my workclothes! I prefer wearing t-shirt to work!
  • Mood : happy, excited, tired, frustrated with clothes 
  • Exercise : walking, breathing technique
  • Stretch marks : The wait is over~! the stretch marks are here to stay! 
  • Swelling : Back to normal or maybe a little swollen.
  • Baby movement : Very active! definitely my stomach changes its form!
  • Nap : Depends on the days. 
  • Leg Cramps : Not so bad.
  • Belly button : Still intact
This week is not so exciting except for the fact the stretch marks! *sigh* oh well, part and parcell of being pregnant! I know I would get it since my mom has it. Yes, it is hereditary.

Financial - Why I joined this business

As days passed by, we are facing with lots and lots of responsibilities. Before this, when I was a student, my responsibility was only to study and I was lucky enough to be given a 8-year scholarship. Alhamdulillah, one thing that I got off my mind. Looking at a few friends of mine, they were not lucky enough like me. They had to work on top of being in school from 8 am to 6 pm and yet, they can still score!

Then before getting married,my responsibility changed. Apart from working and this was the time where financial matter came into the picture. I had to put aside a lump some of money to finance my wedding after 2 months of working. Alhamdulillah, I have my parents to help me out with the majority of the matter. But, being fresh graduate and only started working for 2 months, it was difficult for me. Syukur, alhamdulillah, the wedding went smoothly and it was beautiful as I expected.

1 month and the half after getting married, Mr. Afif and I got to know that we were pregnant. I was excited but we know deep in our heart, there is one thing that really bother us - MONEY, FINANCIAL problem. How to cope with the hospital bills? How to bring up a child with not enough resources? Moreover, nowadays, baby's stuff are not cheap! We listed down what are our responsibilities and I bet, these are not it and definitely, it is going to expand!



This is the break down :


As for now, we are living with my parents and most of the utilities are being paid by them. The others in red those that I have not started doing so. For example, our future house? How long we are going to stay under my parents roof although there is a few extra rooms in the house? Same goes to my personal car, how long I want to use my mom's car in order to go to work? That is not fair for them, right? When little munchkin is here, we will have to start saving for his/her future. As for now, my priority goes to my pregnancy, hospital bills which I did not put it in the list and to be honest, I have not done any shopping unless it is a necessity.  I would really like to repay my parents a bigger sum than what I am giving them now in order to show my appreciation. 

A few weeks ago, I read an article that was shared on facebook which highlights the pain that us middle class citizen are going through. Go ahead and read it. I think what the article said was true. We are stuck in the middle - extra qualified to be helped and at the same time, not having enough money to buy what ever we want. 

This is one of the reason that I joined the business - helping Mr. Afif out in sense of financial. I just pity him, he works so hard everyday going to work at 7am and comes back at 7pm. He supports me every kind of way - physically (since I'm pregnant), emotionally etc. and at the same time, I want to help him out.

After raya sessions - Amani Class

Amani Birth Class - The after Raya sessions

After Raya, we had the remaining 3 classes. We had an overview of Labour and Birth, protecting our birth environment, birthing position, minimizing medical interferencedrafting birth plan and what to expect after the birth of our baby.

Let's summarized what we learnt during the last 3 classes.
  • The different stages of labour:
    • First stage:
      • early first stage : beginning of labour when contractions/surges are fairly mild (30-40seconds) typically every 10 minutes aparts
      • late first stage @ Active phase : the longest and the contraction/surges are hard and strong (1-2 minutes). It typically has established a pattern of 10 minutes apart or less and getting closer together.
      • Transition @ Hard Labour : shortest period, approximately 15-30 minutes. During this time, the uterus is transitioning from the contraction/surges that open the cervix to the expulsion type that will eject the baby.
    • Second stage @ Pushing phase : The uterus is contracting to expel the baby and starts usually when mothers are 10-cm dilated. The contraction/surges will typically space in order to give the mother decent rest between pushes. 
    • Third stage @ after birth : The birth of the placenta. - to be honest, I did not know this stage existed and we have to delivered. I thought that it comes out together with baby. Oh boy, am I wrong!
  • During transition, mothers start to feel very tired and mostly, will ask for pain killers. We are advised by our instructor that during this time, fathers/partner/birth team play such an important role which are
    • give positive encouragements - "Good job honey!", "You are doing great" , "The baby is coming!", "A little bit more, I know you can do it"
    • shower with lots of love - kisses, back rub
  • Relax during strong labour by keeping eyes closed, all muscles loosen and limp as it reduces pain and it allows the body's efforts to be concentrated on the uterus.
  • Learn to put our trust in Allah S.W.T as HE is our protector and creator. Every single part of our body serves its purpose and HE had created us in the most perfect way.
  • How to reduce risk during labour? It should be done throughout our pregnancy 
    • Eat right with health food and nutrition
    • Exercise regularly
    • Alleviate stress
    • Get enough rest
    • Practice relaxation and labour rehearsals during pregnancy - visualisation, simulating contraction, birth position, breathing
    • Avoid harmful substances (medication, smoke, air pollution, household chemicals etc..)
    • Choose your care provider and birthplace carefully 
    • Get educated and not enter labour and birth in ignorance. 
  • How to protect our birth environment?
    • Delay in going to the hospital too soon
    • Minimize interruptions and distractions during hard labour
    • Maintain the continuous support from our birth team(husband, mom, doula). Never leave the mother alone.
    • Watch what is being done and question every procedures
    • Make your intentions to give informed consent or refuse treatment clear
    • Avoid confrontational or argumentative discussions 
  • Apart from lying down (Lithotomy position), there are a number of birthing positions that facilitate the labour process. It is better to stay off our back! Maybe I will write up a post on this topic.
  • A list of complications that could occur during labour such as breech, fetal distress, overdue, placenta previa etc.. 
  • Fetal distress:
    • The causes of it :
      • Mother's position especially when she is on her back
      • Drugs used for pain relief
      • If the waters have broken, it may be that the baby's umbilical cord is compressed between the baby and maternal bones.
    • How to overcome?
      • C-sect is always proposed by our doctor
      • However, there is always a time window between decision and incision - use this time to get up, move, squat, rotate your hips and do anything you can to alleviate a possible cord compression
  • A list of medical interventions that are quite common nowadays : 
    • IV
    • Epidural
    • Electronic Fetal Monitor
    • Synthetic Oxytocin
    • Artificial Rupture of Membranes
    • Episiotomy
    • Immediate Cord Clamping
  • Making a birth plan and some tips on writing it down : Birth plan is a well thought out, written document based on your research and priorities regarding your desired birth experience. It should be considered as a flexible set of instructions and reminders for everyone involved in your labour, birth and postportum and newborn care.
  • We are encouraged to practice labour as we could try different birth position and techniques so that we have a memory bank of options to choose from.
  • Communicate not only to our birth partner and mother but also, the nurses in order for them to be aware of our birth plans - freedom of movement, avoiding drugs, remain active during labour.
  • The benefits of breastfeeding, how to take care of the baby
From these series of classes, I have learnt that
  • It is good to gain some knowledge and to be informed before we are in labour.
  • Trust in Allah's creation as HE had created perfect enough to go through labour and our bodies can go through it.
  • Let the nature take its course.
  • Put aside fear as the useful hormones are suppressed when fear is present.
  • Support from our birth team is so important. 
  • Positive vibes and attitude are the key.
  • Planning is good but Allah is the one who decides.
These are just points and a guideline for us to search and to read up more either through internet or pregnancy books. I am just sharing what I think is important for us mom-to-be to go through pregnancy and labour In Sya Allah.

Your baby deserves a gentle start in life and he/she is counting on us to protect the birth experience

Week 34 update

Week 34 update

Week 34 and 6 weeks to go till the Estimated Due Date!

What can I say about this week? I was so tired, having back pain and my feet and my hands were bloated. Apart from that, I had a great weekend to Kuala Terengganu for my brother-in-law's solemnization and wedding reception, spending some time with the family. Keropok lekor and nasi dagang were everywhere! I even brought back some Keropok lekor from Losong for my parents.



On the 16th September, it was Malaysia Day. 

Not only it was a public holiday, Mr. Afif and I went for some baby shopping in PWTC and One Utama. Maybe this time will be the final final round of baby shopping. Alhamdulillah, there were not so many people at PWTC and I did not put so much expectation on the fair. At least, we got a few stuff from the list - swaddle blanket with zip, nursing top and a bag of breast milk storage plastic.



Let's see what BabyCenter has to say about my growing little munchkin. But a little disclaimer, every baby grows differently. 
  • Little munchkin's hearing is fully developed.
  • He/she measures approximately 18 inches or over 45 cm from the top of the head to the heels and keep growing in length. 
  • Little munchkin weighs approximately 2.2 kg but I think little munchkin is more than 2.3kg.
  • I will feel tangling sensation or pain in the back as I walk and I am experiencing it now! This is due to the pelvic joints are starting to loosen in order to get ready for labour. 
Week 34 update :
  • Braxton Hicks : I think that I am having it but I'm not too sure about it
  • Craving : Magnum Ice cream
  • Pain : lower back due to walking
  • Weight gain :19kg
  • Current weight : 72kg 
  • Clothes: same old same old
  • Mood : happy, excited, tired, frustrated with clothes (I can not fit into it anymore)
  • Exercise : walking, breathing technique, swimming
  • Stretch marks : Alhamdulillah, none so far. 
  • Swelling : YES! my feet looks like a chicken nugget!
  • Baby movement : Very active!
  • Nap : Depends on the days. 
  • Leg Cramps : Starting to get serious!
  • Belly button : Still intact
I love being pregnant however, when it comes to clothes, it makes me depressed. I could not fit anymore into my tailor-made peplum that I wore during Raya.

Food Purifying with Biozone

Food Purifying with Biozone

My family has been using Biozone Foor Purifier for the past 2 months and we have become accustomed in using it whenever we want to consume either meat, seafood or fruits. Not only we are purifying the food, we are eliminating some "sweet" odor from the our food.  

The latest  food that we purified and I got the chance to captured was shrimp as we were about to cook the "Sambal Tumis Udang & Petai". Sounds yummy right? It is even better when we purifiy them! At first, the shrimp was looking so innocent once we turned the Biozone Food Purifier, the impurities were out of the system.

I used a porcelain bowl and let the Biozone Food Purifier do its trick. As the time passed, look at the "bubbles" accumulated and I even have to scoop it out to avoid it from overflowing. After 15 minutes, I rinsed the shrimp with filtered water and it was ready to be cooked by ever-loving mama. Thank you mama for the tasteful "Sambal Tumis Udang & Petai" !

Week 33

Week 33 update

I feel that my 33rd week has been so challenging. I really feel that I have fallen in that period again - 1st trimester. I get tired to easily. I have planned so much stuff last week however, I could only do a few.  Oh well, ups and downs right. Life must go on and I need to drink a lot of water.

Last weekend, Mr. Afif and I did (I think) our final round of baby shoppingBaby Checklist. There is only a few things left and we are looking forward to the Mom & Baby expo this weekend  (14th-16th September 2013) in PWTC. Hopefully we will be able to go on the 16th September 2013 after a long weekend in Terengganu for my brother-in-laws solemnization and wedding reception. 

On the 9th of September, we had our monthly check up. I was really excited about this check up because I wanted to discuss about our birth plan. Alhamdulillah our birth plan is approved by Dr. Fidak. Hopefully, we will be able to go thru the labour as planned and smoothly In sya Allah. Please do pray for us.


Apart from that, little munchkin is doing fine, kicking here and there, being active. He/she is kicking right this instant as I am typing this blog post. You little munckin always know when to make me smile :) . However, little munchkin's weight is 100g heavier that we expected which is not a good sign.  He/she might be big when the due date is here. I am praying that he/she will be just nice when the time comes In sya Allah. 

I asked Dr. Fidak about my monthly supplements, according to her, as long as I am gaining weight, doing fine, drinking milk. I can stop taking my Obimin and alternate my Neurogain and calcium intake. Yeay for this month charges! 

We will be seeing her in 3 weeks time when I will be 36 week and we will see from there. Maybe paper work for the hospital admission? Hospital visit? Who knows?

  • Craving : a plate of salad with lettuce, tomatoes, capsicum, corn, red bean !
  • Pain : lower back 
  • Weight gain :18kg
  • Current weight : 71kg 
  • Clothes: same old same old
  • Mood : happy and excited
  • Exercise : walking, pelvic tilt, squats, breathing technique
  • Stretch marks : Alhamdulillah, none so far. 
  • Swelling : Ankles and feet seem to be swollen. 
  • Baby movement : very active!
  • Nap : depends on the days. 
  • Leg Cramps : Starting to get serious!
  • Belly button : Still intact
33 weeks down! 7 weeks to go till the due date! Keep staying active!

Exercises during Pregnancy

I always been very active before I got pregnant. I zumba-ed, Metcon X-ed, running on the thread mill just to get myself fit and healthy. However, I got pregnant, I basically became lazier or I just blamed it on the pregnancy. Throughout my first trimester, I felt so tired every single day and Alhamdulillah, I am blessed that I did not go through the period with morning sickness like most ladies. 

Once I was done with first trimester, I became more and more active.  At least, in my eyes. I watched certain YouTube videos with moms exercise throughout the pregnancy. So, I was determined to be just like one of them. On top of that, during AMANI class, we were encouraged to do a number of exercises. Even on BabyCenter, they listed out the benefits of exercising:

  • it will make us feel a lot better - relieve back pain, improve posture, reduce constipation
  • it will make us look better - toned muscles (back, butt and thigh), increase the blood flow of our skin (healthy glow)
  • prepare ourselves for labour
  • regain our pre-pregnancy weight quickly
Obviously, when we do all these exercises  there must be a limit to it and please do consult your doctors before doing it.
If there is one of the signs below, please stop:
  • dizzy
  • fatigue
  • heart palpitation
  • shortness of breath
  • pain in the pack and pelvis
What have I done so far

  • walking : 15- 20 minutes, 3-4 times a week (this include walking in the shopping malls, from my car to my office) - I really hope this counts 
  • Squatting :  stretches and tones the inner thighs and perineum, build stamina in the legs. Squatting is one of the natural birthing position and it puts baby in alignment to apply pressure on the dilating cervix in labour. It opens the outlet of the pelvis by 10%-30% and it shorten vagina (so, shorten 2nd stage of labour)

  • Hip tilts, pelvic rocks : tones and condition the muscles. It relieves pressure on the lower back, relieves tension and brings our uterus forward.

  • Butterfly : tones and condition the thigh muscles. It prevents fatigue in the leg as they become more flexible. It stretches as well our perineum. Here's a link to Butterfly pose on YouTube.
