Lil Munchkin

Lil Munchkin

What comes after marriage? A little munchkin, a bun in the oven, the little Mr. Afif and Dhirah, whatever you want to call it. Yes, we are expecting the little one soon.

We did not plan as I talked to Mr. Afif, if there's a baby coming our way, yes, we would love to care for him. But if there's none, it's ok. A child is a God's gift. He will give us when he thinks we are ready to take up the responsibilities.

In February, Mr. Afif and I were kind of active physically - we joined 8-session of MetconX which consists of 1-hour long intense workout (squats, pushups, Metcon Ball, Bar, turkish getup, burpees etc..), gone for badminton session and started training for marathon. Before the wedding, I was struggling to be fit and eat healthier for the big day. So, the feeling of working out continued. Eversince I started MetconX, I fell in love with it and Mr. Afif was preparing his body for KL league Hockey Tournament for his Alma mater. However, my mom was worried if I already have the little one inside. She would advice me to check a few times but, the usual me ignored it.

After Chinese New Year and on a fine Friday morning, we used the stick to check it out. Here's what we found out.

During lunch time, we went to the clinic and sadly, the doctor told us that we were not pregnant. Maybe due my water intake before going to the doctor - the more water you drink the less presence of the human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine. the As I was feeling a little bit unsatisfied, we bought another stick to test out again the next morning. True enough once again, the result came back positive.

Thus, we decided to go to a Obgyn recommended by my mom. We booked an appoitment with Dr. Fatima Najla of Kelana Jaya Medical Center (KJMC) on the following Monday. Sunday went by like a breeze and Monday came along. We went to see Dr. Fatima and she confirmed that there's a little something something growing inside of me. Alhamdulillah and thank you to Allah. So, I stopped the last 2 MetconX session as I fear of the safety of my lil munchkin and In Sya Allah, I will resume these sessions next year (definitely, I will get sore after the first week of session! be nice to me coaches)

As time passes by, we are already in July, seems like just yesterday Mr. Afif and I got married and I'm already 23 weeks pregnant and 17 weeks to go before the arrival of the lil munchkin.
